Cleaning Services in Hoffman Estates, IL Family-owned since 1985
Parcel A, the Highlands, Winston Knolls, Westbury, Barrington Square, Beacon Pointe — Happy Maids cleans homes across all nine miles of Hoffman Estates, in 60169 and 60192. The houses run from 1955 ranches on crawl spaces to 2000s two-stories with full basements, and they are not the same job.
The thing that changes a cleaning plan here is not the water. It is the trees. Hoffman Estates has already lost more than 6,000 ash trees, the Village is working through its silver maples now, and a street that had full shade last summer can have bare parkway soil and a young replacement tree this one.
Seventeen thousand village trees, and the parkways are being replanted block by block
Happy Maids has cleaned northwest-suburban homes since 1985, and Hoffman Estates is one of the widest towns we serve — 21.25 square miles running some nine miles east to west. Sam and Jack Hoffman opened Parcel A in late 1955 in the wedge between Higgins, Golf and Roselle Roads, 262 ranch homes on half-acre lots, sold out within months. Roughly 5,000 Hoffman-built houses followed, and the east side of town is still made of them.
North of the tollway came Winston Knolls in January 1969 and Westbury in the early 1970s — bigger two-stories and split-levels with basements, bought largely by families working at Motorola and Woodfield. Barrington Square brought the village its first townhouses starting around 1970. Out west in 60192, around Prairie Stone and the NOW Arena, the houses are 1990s and 2000s: more bathrooms, more hard surface, more square footage.
The Village maintains over 17,000 publicly owned trees and has already taken out more than 6,000 ash to emerald ash borer. The Silver Maple Program is the next wave, working through the fast-growing silver maples and Siberian elms planted by the thousand when the Parcels, the Highlands, Winston Knolls and Westbury went in: about 500 removed in 2024, 400 in 2025, and roughly 2,400 parkway trees inspected in 2025 with about 425 flagged for 2026. Residents get two weeks' notice before a tree comes out, and village trees are trimmed on a four-to-seven-year cycle, so on most blocks here the work is either coming, happening, or a year behind you.
Three branches of Poplar Creek run through town and more than 6,000 acres of forest preserve wrap it — the 1,800-acre Paul Douglas Preserve north of Central Road, the tallgrass prairie and oak-hickory woodland of the Arthur L. Janura Preserve south and west, where the Poplar Creek Prairie Stewards have restored hundreds of acres — with named stormwater basins sitting right inside neighborhoods. Inside the village the water is municipal, and has been since December 1985 — Lake Michigan water bought from Chicago, so there is no iron, no orange ring in the toilet and no well smell. What it leaves instead is a light calcium film on shower glass, chrome and faucet bases. One scheduling note we work around: the 60169 side and the 60192 side are twenty-plus minutes apart in traffic, which is why we route the east and west halves of this town separately.

Recurring Maid Service

Deep Cleaning
The hand-washed reset: cabinet fronts, baseboards, trim, doors and the buildup a routine visit never reaches.
Move-In / Move-Out
An empty house cleaned corner to corner — cabinets and drawers inside and out — for a closing or a rental turnover.
Cleaned Your Way
You don't have to have the whole house cleaned. Half the house, alternating floors, kitchen and baths only — tell us how you live and we'll build a plan around it.
Post-Remodel
Fine drywall dust keeps resettling for weeks after the trades pack up. We clear it, room by room.
Gift Certificates
The hostess or new-baby gift people actually remember. A clean house beats another candle.
They took the maple out of our parkway — why does the house need more work now?
Because a tree coming down is a season of grit. Stump grinding throws fine wood dust that drifts indoors, bare soil and mulch replace turf for a year, and the shade that hid every streak on your glass is gone. Happy Maids adjusts the entry-and-hard-floor part of the visit street by street here.
- Stump-grinding dust is finer than you expect — A grinder turns a stump into a cone of pale wood powder, and it travels — through open windows, in on shoes, off the truck ruts in the parkway. It lands on horizontal surfaces first: sills, the tops of trim and doors, the flat of a stair rail. Sealed-HEPA SEBO vacuums pull that dust out of carpet and hard floor instead of pushing it back into the room, and the surfaces it settles on get hand-washed rather than dusted over.
- Seeds, twigs and chewed leaves, all season long — A mature silver maple carpets a driveway and entry with helicopter seeds every May, then drops small twigs and limb litter the rest of the year. The Village does not treat public trees for Japanese beetle, calling the damage aesthetic, so midsummer adds skeletonized leaf litter to what comes inside. Entry mats, thresholds and the first ten feet of hard floor carry all of it — those are the zones we work first and check last.
- A replanted parkway is a season of bare soil — When the tree comes out the turf goes with it, and what is left is open dirt and a mulch ring around a replacement that will not shade anything for a decade. Add a wet spring, a dog, and three branches of Poplar Creek running through the village. Hard floors get mopped in detail, not given a quick wet pass, and the grout near the doors gets real attention instead of a once-over.
- Sun in a room that was shaded for forty years — Take a big maple off the south side of a 1960s ranch and the afternoon light comes straight through glass nobody has judged in decades. Every streak on the slider, every mark on a dark cabinet front, every layer of dust on a sill is suddenly obvious. Interior glass, sills and tracks get their own pass — Happy Maids cleans windows from the inside, and anything higher than a two-step ladder reaches is a window-washer's job, not ours.
Green supplies and dirt-eating SEBO vacuums
Green, kid- and pet-safe cleaning is Happy Maids' standard on every Hoffman Estates visit, never an upsell: non-toxic products, color-coded microfiber, and commercial SEBO vacuums with sealed HEPA filtration that pull fine dust, dander and pollen out of carpets and hard floors instead of firing it back into the room.
In a house that gets shut up tight all winter, with a dog in and out the back door, that is the difference between a home that looks clean and one that is healthier to breathe in.
- Non-toxic green products — safe for kids, pets and allergy-sensitive homes.
- Sealed-HEPA SEBO vacuums — German-built, allergy-grade filtration that traps what it lifts.
- Color-coded microfiber — no cross-contamination between the kitchen and the bathrooms.

Deep cleaning, recurring service or a move-out clean in Hoffman Estates
Most people calling us for the first time are not sure which of these they want, and the names are not much help. Here is the plain version.
Deep cleaning — usually first
A deep clean is not more rooms than a regular clean; it is the same rooms done to a different standard. Baseboards, cabinet fronts, trim, doors, blinds and sills get hand-washed rather than dusted. That is why it takes longer, and why it normally comes first — you cannot dust a baseboard that was never washed. How deep cleaning works.
Recurring service — what holds it
Once the house is at a base, maintenance keeps it there: weekly, every two weeks, or every four weeks. On weekly and every-two-week schedules we hold the same team on the same day. Every two weeks is what most Hoffman Estates homes settle on. Choosing weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.
Move-out or move-in — an empty house
With the furniture gone we can reach what is normally impossible — inside cabinets and drawers, inside the oven and refrigerator. Those interiors are add-ons, and on a move nearly everyone takes them. Move-in is usually the bigger job, because you are about to live in it. How move-out cleaning works.
Or something in between
You do not have to book the whole house. Plenty of Hoffman Estates clients have us clean only the rooms they use, alternate floors between visits, or skip tasks they handle themselves. What you can change in a cleaning plan.
Not sure which one fits? That is what the phone call is for — tell us about the house and we will say honestly which you need, and whether you need the deep clean at all.
How much does house cleaning cost in Hoffman Estates?
Happy Maids prices cleaning in Hoffman Estates by the time a home honestly takes — which comes down to square footage, how many bathrooms, and the condition it is in right now. A 1,800-square-foot house and a 4,000-square-foot house should not pay the same number, so we do not pretend they do.
Run the quick estimate for a ballpark, then call us for your exact price — free, no obligation, and a real person answers. If a house has been a while, the first visit is usually a deep clean, and we will tell you that up front rather than after.
- Home size & baths — the two biggest levers.
- How often we come — recurring visits lower the per-clean rate.
- Add-ons — inside oven or fridge, interior windows, and more, on request.

Hoffman Estates house cleaning FAQ
The Village ground out the stump in our parkway and there is dust on everything. Can you clean that up?
Yes. Stump-grinding dust is fine, pale and light enough to keep drifting indoors for days, and it settles on sills, trim tops and the flat surfaces of furniture before anyone notices it. Happy Maids vacuums it out with sealed-HEPA SEBO machines and hand-washes the hard surfaces it lands on, so it leaves the house instead of moving around it. If the parkway work is still going on, a recurring visit while it finishes is worth more than one clean at the end.
They took our shade tree down and now the windows look terrible. Do you clean windows?
Happy Maids cleans windows from the inside — glass, sills and tracks — as part of a deep clean or as an add-on to a recurring visit. Exterior glass is not something we do, and neither is anything higher than a two-step ladder reaches. A two-story stairwell window or a foyer fixture belongs to a window washer with the right equipment, and we will say so rather than guess.
Is Hoffman Estates on well water?
No. Every home inside the village has been on Lake Michigan water since December 1985, bought from Chicago through a seven-town water agency, so Hoffman Estates bathrooms do not get the iron staining that nearby well-water towns do — no orange rings in the toilet, no rust streak down the tub. What the water does leave, at roughly eight grains of hardness, is a light calcium film on shower glass, chrome and faucet bases. That is a different problem, and it takes a different approach.
My shower glass has gone cloudy. Can you get it clear?
Usually yes, but not in one visit. Happy Maids works mineral film down with standard supplies and it comes off a layer at a time over several cleanings — we will not use anything harsh enough to etch the glass or dull a glaze, because that damage cannot be undone. Once the enclosure is clear, a regular schedule is what keeps it clear.
We have a 1950s ranch on a crawl space east of Roselle Road. Is that a different job than a newer house out west?
Yes, and it should be. The original Hoffman-built ranches run roughly 1,176 to 1,650 square feet on crawl spaces, with original oak floors, floor registers that collect dust rather than shed it, and small original bathrooms. A 1990s two-story near Beacon Pointe has more bathrooms, more hard surface and a full basement underneath it. Happy Maids staffs and times each one for what it actually is.
How much does house cleaning cost in Hoffman Estates?
Happy Maids prices by the time a home honestly takes, which comes down to square footage, how many bathrooms, and the condition the house is in right now. A Parcel A ranch and a five-bedroom out in 60192 are not the same visit, so we do not pretend they are the same number. Call or text 847-382-0082 and a real person will give you a straight answer, free and with no obligation. Use the quick estimate on this page if you want a rough figure right now, and call when you want the real one.
We are a shoes-off house. Does that change anything?
It changes what gets noticed. Shoes-off households are common in Hoffman Estates, and floors in those homes get judged closely — barefoot, in daylight, up close. Happy Maids mops hard floors in detail rather than running a quick wet pass over them, and if your house is shoes-off, tell the office when you book and we will note it on the job.
Winter salt comes in on everyone's shoes. What do you do about it?
Hoffman Estates plows 161 center lane miles and 389 cul-de-sacs, and I-90 runs straight through the middle of town, so from November through March salt and brine ride in on every shoe. It works on baseboards, entry tile grout and the hardwood nearest the doors. Happy Maids hand-washes baseboards, doors and trim on a deep clean and mops the entry zones in detail every visit, which is why every-two-weeks service holds up better here through winter than monthly does.
Do I need to be home while you clean?
No. Hoffman Estates clients leave a garage code, a lockbox or a key on file, and many of them are at work — the average commute here is under thirty minutes. Every Happy Maids cleaner is a background-checked W-2 employee, never gig labor, and access details stay locked in our system. If you would rather be home the first time to walk the house with the team, that works too.
Are your products safe for kids and pets?
Yes, and they are the default rather than an upsell. Green, kid- and pet-safe products go on every Happy Maids visit, along with color-coded microfiber so a cloth used in a bathroom never touches a kitchen counter. Sealed-HEPA SEBO vacuums trap fine dust and dander instead of firing it back into the room, which matters in a house that stays shut up through a northwest-suburban winter.
Do you clean both 60169 and 60192?
Both. Hoffman Estates runs some nine miles east to west and the two ZIP codes sit twenty-plus minutes apart in traffic, so Happy Maids routes the east side and the west side separately instead of booking them back to back. That is a scheduling detail, not a coverage limit — from Parcel A and the Highlands out to Beacon Pointe and Casey Farms, it is all our territory.
Will a real person answer if I call?
Yes. Call 847-382-0082 Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and someone in the Lake Barrington office picks up — no phone tree, no voicemail tag. Prefer to text? Same number, and we will reply. Cleaning teams are in the field Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Can I book one cleaning without signing up for anything?
Yes. Happy Maids does one-time deep cleans, move-in and move-out cleans and before-the-holidays resets throughout Hoffman Estates with no contract. Many clients start with a single deep clean, see the house at that standard, and then decide whether a recurring schedule is worth it.
