You Choose What Gets Cleaned Custom plans, since 1985
You don't have to have your whole house cleaned. You can pick the rooms, skip the tasks you don't need, and set how often we come. Most people who have never hired a cleaning service assume it's the whole house or nothing — it never has been.
Can you clean only part of my house?
Yes. Happy Maids builds a cleaning plan around whatever you actually want done — a set of rooms, a set of tasks, or a schedule that alternates. You can have the kitchen and bathrooms only, leave the guest rooms off the list, skip the dusting, or have us clean upstairs one visit and the main floor the next. Whatever we do clean gets the same trained attention and the same standard.
What other people have set up
These aren't packages off a menu. They're plans we built with clients who told us how they actually live in their homes.
"We only use half the house"
The kids moved out and most of the bedrooms sit empty. We clean the half of the house they live in every visit, and the rest of it every couple of months.
"Both of us work all day"
Two adults out of the house from eight to six don't make much mess. Upstairs one visit, main floor the next — everything gets cleaned properly, just not all on the same day.
"Just the kitchen and bathrooms"
The rooms that get used hardest and show it fastest. Some clients add the floors; some stop right there.
"Skip the parts we don't need"
No dusting. Or no floors. Or the finished basement stays off the list until company comes. You tell us, and that's how the visit runs.
Rooms, tasks, floors, frequency
People are usually surprised by how much of this is theirs to decide. There are four levers, and you can pull any combination of them:
- Which rooms we clean — keep any room off the list. A closed door is a clear instruction.
- Which tasks we do — dusting, floors, the kitchen. If you handle something yourself, we'll leave it to you.
- Which floors, and when — upstairs and downstairs on alternating visits, so the whole house still gets covered.
- How often we come — weekly, every two weeks, every four, or a bigger clean a few times a year.
What doesn't change is how we clean. The same trained technicians, the same checklist standard, the same supplies. The scope is smaller — the work isn't lighter.

Why we'd rather you ask than cancel
Every year we hear from clients who are about to stop service because the budget changed, or the house feels too big for what they need. Almost every time, there was a plan that would have worked — fewer rooms, a longer gap between visits, a different rhythm — and nobody thought to bring it up.
We would much rather adjust your plan and keep the same familiar team coming to your home than lose you over something we could have solved in a two-minute phone call. If something isn't working, tell us. We'll be straight with you about what changes and what it costs.
What does a custom plan cost?
Happy Maids prices every clean by the time a home honestly takes — square footage, how many bathrooms, and the condition it is in right now. Two very different homes should not pay the same number, so we do not pretend they do.
Run the quick estimate for a ballpark, then call us for your exact price — free, no obligation, and a real person answers.
- Home size & baths — the two biggest levers.
- How often we come — recurring visits lower the per-clean rate.
- Add-ons — inside oven or fridge, interior windows, and more, on request.
You don't have to have the whole house cleaned. Plenty of clients have us clean only the rooms they use, alternate floors between visits, or skip tasks they handle themselves. Read what you can change.

Custom cleaning plans, answered
Can I have only the kitchen and bathrooms cleaned?
Yes. Kitchen and bathrooms is one of the most common tailored plans we run, because those are the rooms that get used hardest and show it fastest. Many clients add the floors; others stop there. Call us and we'll price it for your home.
Can you skip rooms we don't use?
Yes. Guest rooms, a formal dining room, a finished lower level — any room can stay off the list. Keep the door closed and we'll leave it alone. You can also add a room back for a single visit when company is coming.
Can you clean different floors on different visits?
Yes. Alternating floors is a good fit for large homes with only one or two people living in them. We clean upstairs on one visit and the main floor on the next, so the whole house still gets a proper clean — it just happens on a rhythm rather than all at once.
Can I skip the dusting or the floors?
Yes. You can drop individual tasks, not just rooms. If you vacuum yourself between visits, or you'd rather we spent the time on bathrooms, say so and we'll build the visit that way.
How much does a custom cleaning plan cost?
It depends on what's on the list and how big the home is, so we quote each plan individually rather than publishing a package price. The estimate is free and there's no obligation — call 847-382-0082 and we'll talk through your home and give you a number. The estimate tool gives you a rough figure right now.
Will the quality drop if I reduce the scope?
No. The scope changes; the standard doesn't. Whatever is on your list is cleaned by the same trained technicians to the same checklist, with the same supplies and equipment. We're doing less work, not lighter work.
Can I change the plan later?
Yes, any time. Plans shift as houses do — a new baby, kids moving out, a parent moving in, a change in budget. Call the office and we'll adjust it. There's no contract holding you to anything.
