Book your cleaning
Pick your service, choose a date, and you are booked — it takes about a minute. You will see your price before you confirm anything.
I tested the booking tool tonight. It will not advance past the first step unless the customer ticks both SMS consent boxes. Not just the appointment-reminder one — the promotional one too.
The wording MaidCentral shows contradicts itself in the same paragraph: “Consent is not a condition of any purchase … You must acknowledge this consent to continue.” That first sentence is the standard line that keeps a marketing-SMS opt-in on the right side of the TCPA. The second sentence makes it untrue.
Requiring consent to promotional texts before somebody is allowed to buy is the specific thing the rule prohibits. Appointment reminders are fine to require — you cannot run the job without them. Special offers and discounts are not.
I have taken the “never a condition of booking” line off our form, because while MaidCentral is set up this way it is not true and I will not have the page say it.
This is a setting in MaidCentral, not something I can change from here. The fix is to make the promotional box optional and leave the transactional one required. Worth asking them directly — I would guess it is a checkbox in the online-quoting config. Tell me once it is changed and I will restore the honest wording and re-test.
